Computer Education Apps.
Ms. Morgan
The Most Beneficial Computer
Through my research, I have looked at many computers. I decided that since the school gave me the opportunity to decide what computer would be best, I didn’t want to spend an outrageous amount of money on an Apple computer, so I immediately crossed Apple out of my list. I then did a lot of researching and found a wonderful desktop computer from Gateway®.
I believe that it is extremely important for each computer that is being used in a school, whether is be a student or a faculty member using it, should have fast speed while using any application on the computer. The model of the Gateway® computer that I would like to use for our school is the Gateway® DX4820-01, and it has extremely fast speed, which is specially made for customers that are using lots of high memory applications. It is made with Intel® Core™ 2 Quad Processor. So if I am trying to teach a student a way of learning with a computer game, such as Number Munchers, it is assured that the computer won’t crash while I am teaching math and also wont freeze or be extremely slow. Efficiency is crucial when you are looking for a nice computer that will last you a long time.
In a classroom, the computer that is being used needs to have parental controls. With this computer, it already has the SP1 Edition of Genuine Windows Vista® Premium, 64 bit. With a wonderful program such as Windows Vista, it insures you that you can place many parental controls to block inappropriate websites from the children, and so faculty staff is staying on task all day long. Windows Vista® also has Windows Defender™, which helps protect the computer system from viruses, pop-ups, and other harmful bugs.
Thankfully, this computer also provides Microsoft® Works. It provides Microsoft’s latest SE version, and it provides many extremely useful applications to assist teachers in almost every way possible. It has word processing, calendar, spreadsheet, and e-mail and internet suite. It will be extremely helpful for all faculty members to plan their calendars and even lessons plans from the luxury of their computer. And it provides an easy way of communication for all the faculty members to use.
Each and every teacher throughout the school year will have an extremely large amount of files, e-mails, documents, lesson plans, etc., that they will need to store onto their computers hard drive. This computer offers an extremely large hard drive, which can hold 750 GB worth of data. I believe that if each teacher was given a computer with such a large hard drive, it would be extremely beneficial. Teachers wouldn’t have the worry of having to delete old files.
This computer also includes an amazing program called Double-Layer DVD+R w/ Labelflash™. With this amazing program, teachers will be able to burn presentations and DVD’s onto the computer. It would be so helpful if all of the faculty members could burn their presentations onto the computer, so they would have their presentation on the computer to help them with their lesson plan, or just to have saved on their computer to maybe use for a later time.
I believe that the Gateway® DX4820-01 is the most useful computer for this school. It is a quality computer, which is not ridiculously expensive. The total cost for each computer would be five-hundred ninety-nine dollars and ninety-nine cents. This computer also has a one year warranty for all fixes. This computer has so many great qualities that our faculty needs to do the best they can. It will make the entire faculty much more organized and put-together. This computer is definitely what we need, and I believe that it will be a huge success with the faculty and students.

My #1 Assignment Essay

Technology in Education
I have been a nanny for two young boys for over two years. One of the boys is going into 6th grade, and the other is going into 4th grade. I have helped them with countless amounts of homework and projects, and have really acquired a passion for helping them learn how to well, learn! This summer, the boys both received laptops. I was quite surprised that their mother would let such young and wild boys have such an expensive item. But little did I know, that not only would the boys play video games and watch their favorite T.V shows on the laptops, but they also have learned not only about technology, but learned information that they need to know in math, English, and various other subjects.
I think that there are so many factors that encourage the use of technology in education. One factor is how easy it makes learning. Forget about all of the papers, using a laptop helps save the hassle of using countless amounts of paper in the classroom. It also makes learning so much more fun. I remember when I was in kindergarten, we had the most exciting fun math program on the computers called number munchers. I even begged my parents to buy the game for me at home because I found it so entertaining, and it also put smiles on their faces because they knew that I was actually having fun while learning how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
I believe technology plays a huge role in teaching. At the high school that I attended, instead of using the messy chalk boards and dry erase boards, we got a new exciting board called the Smart Board. It was so cool because teachers could show us power points, or we could watch movies right from the screen, and it also acted as a dry erase board, because you could write on it too! It was also really fun because sometimes our teachers would give each student a remote and we would all play an interactive educational game on the smart board. It was a fun, new, and technology savvy way of learning, and my school was hooked!
I define educational technology as the new way of teaching. A new, fun, and extremely beneficial way of learning. I know from personal experience, that it is much more engaging to learn from a cool new technologic program than an old dusty chalk board!
